A Brief History

Boy Scouting in Newtown Square dates back to the days of "Troop 1, RFD, Larchmont, PA" which reflected our community’s rural standing in 1922.

Since then the chartering organization of Troop 1 has changed from the Marple Newtown School District, to the Newtown Township Business Association, to the Newtown Square Baptist Church. Finally in 1947 St. Anastasia Parish became the Troop’s chartering organization. In the late 1960s, Boy Scouts of America required Larchmont Troop 1 to change its unit number to Troop 315.

Even though we are charted at a Roman Catholic Church, we welcome boys of all and any religious affiliation.

Weekly Meetings

Weekly meeting are every Thursday from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm at St. Anastasia Parish, in Newtown Square. The Scout Room is located below the church. Go through the south facing doors on the east end of the building.
